MICHAEL JOHN ANGUS
Paranormal Researcher | Firefighter | Filmmaker | Keynote Speaker | Published Author
Exploring the Intersection of Trauma, Death, and the Paranormal
ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael John Angus is a veteran firefighter, paranormal researcher, filmmaker, and published author whose work explores the mysterious connection between trauma, human consciousness, and the unseen world.
Serving as a Lead Firefighter with Fort Benning Fire & Emergency Services, Angus has spent years responding to high-risk emergency incidents where life and death intersect. His career has placed him in some of the most intense environments imaginable—fatal fires, critical incidents, and national-level emergency responses.
Through these experiences, Angus began exploring a compelling question:
Do repeated encounters with death and extreme human emotion change how first responders perceive the unseen world?
This question became the foundation of his research, paranormal investigations, publications, and keynote presentation “How We Get the Mark of the Dead.”
FEDERAL & MAJOR INCIDENT EXPERIENCE
Throughout his career, Angus has operated in coordinated environments involving federal agencies and nationally significant incidents.
Notable experience includes:
• Supporting operations connected with the United States Department of Defense and work related to the The Pentagon
• Responding to large-scale disaster operations alongside the Federal Emergency Management Agency
• Working numerous investigative scenes alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation
• Assisting incidents involving fire and explosion investigations coordinated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
• Participating in the first Ebola patient transport to the National Institutes of Health, working closely with federal medical teams and officials from the United States Department of State
• Transporting the shooter involved in the 1996 Hub Lawn shooting at Pennsylvania State University, providing emergency medical transport during the critical response
These missions required strict safety protocols, multi-agency coordination, and exposure to some of the most emotionally intense emergency environments faced by first responders.

• Energy transfer during life-and-death events
• PTSD and expanded perception
• Personal experiences from emergency response scenes
• The theory of the “Mark of the Dead”
PUBLISHED AUTHOR
Michael John Angus is a published author with several articles and essays focusing on first responders, trauma, and paranormal phenomena. His writing bridges the gap between real-world emergency response and unexplained experiences, offering insights that are both academic and experiential. These publications are used as references in paranormal research circles, first responder wellness discussions, and trauma studies.
